This future consideration is long overdue. It was brought up in the beta of Resources and Posts, alike. Organization obsessed people like me are going crazy not being able to touch the tags. <sigh> I encourage some resources be put toward this popular request.

Agreed. I have a tag that I would like to convert to another in bulk; otherwise it would take hours based on the number of past that have it.

I just wrote to Finalsite about the same thing! The inconsistency not only drives me nuts but we have also had sponsors who have pointed it out multiple times asking for it to be corrected.

Would LOVE to be able to edit our tags...many incosistent entries (lower vs. upper case, all caps, spelling errors)...at the end of the day, they look really bad on pages that pull tags. Thanks in advance!

Would love this too! It's frustrating not having that control.

I'll add another vote to this idea. I have the same issue with tags, having singular and plural forms of tags, as well as uppercase and lowercase. I would love to be able to see all the tags that have been created, and then be able to edit them.

It would be nice if this Tag management system allows:

• Add, delete, edit, merge of tags, all in bulk/batch, as well as in individual modes!

• Ability to see/inspect all existing tags across modules (posts, images, etc) for consistency.

• Ability to pull everything that has a given tag (across modules).

• When creating posts in a board or adding resources to a folder, allow the addition of default tag(s) for that folder/board that can then be fine-tuned in the post/image edit tool.

There are tag options in resources, messages, posts and I'm sure other places.
We are having problems with indiscriminate tag creation resulting in things like "parent" and "parents" both being tags.
Can we rename / alter an existing tag with some kind of find and replace technique that would for example change all "parent" to "parents"
Is there a way we can limit who can create new tags?
Can there be a cross-module tag library somehow / somewhere?

Having the same issue would really appreciate the ability to edit Tags globally throughout the site. I am really surprised this is not possible and we are currently manually changing ours.

Thanks very much for your feedback! We can totally see the need for this feature (and have even found this would be useful ourselves, as we use Posts on finalsite.com). This is definitely something we will consider adding in the future.

Yes, Eric! We're going through the same thing right now!

And not just capitalization. When we were newbies, we made a number of bad decisions regarding tags, so we have some tags we don't want anymore, some of which are quite similar to the ones we are now using. Being able to clean out the old ones would be great.
